François Chevennement, Guest Ballet Faculty
Mr. Chevennement, presently Artistic Director of Citie Ballet, began his professional career with the Opera Avignon before continuing on to Ballet du Nord (France) and the Alberta Ballet as a principal dancer. Mr. Chevennement has performed principal and soloist roles in many of the great classical ballets. He has danced in the works of major choreographers of the last century including George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, John Butler, Jose Limon, Robert North, Jennifer Muller, Margo Sappington, and Jean Paul Comelin. Mr. Chevennement began his teaching career with the School of Dance of Mende teaching all levels from beginner to advanced and was awarded the State Diploma of Teacher of Classical Dance (France) in 1994. At the invitation of Artistic Directors Mikko Nissinen and Jean Grand-Maître, Mr. Chevennement has been a frequent guest teacher for the Alberta Ballet.
