Nutcracker Auditions
Mice, Soldiers & Party Children needed! Sunday, October 14th, Alberta Ballet will be holding its auditions for Nutcracker. If you are 10 years old or older, between 4 ft 6" and 5 ft 4" and would like to audition for a chance to perform at the Jubilee Auditorium with a professional ballet company please see your ballet teacher for more information. Please note, the school Christmas performance and Nutcracker are the same weekend.
Royal Winnipeg Ballet
Auditions for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet will be held on Wednesday, October 10th. The Faculty of RWB will also be offering Master Classes for students 10 years old and up. If you are interested in attending the classes or the auditions please contact your ballet teacher for more information.
National Ballet School

Christmas Performance
Our first performance of the 2007-08 Season will be December 15th. The performance will commence at 2:00 p.m. at The Westbury Theatre. Tickets will go on sale November 25th.
Rehearsal schedules and details of the performance will come home at the end of October.

Welcome Back ...
Welcome back to all our returning families and to our new families we welcome you to Cecchetti Dance Theatre Guild!
The upcoming 2007/2008 season promises to be more exciting than ever. With two performances on the schedule, Cecchetti Exams in the fall and in the spring, the school year will be busy with much hard work and a lot of fun! Did I mention the baby?

Parking
Parking for the TransAlta Arts Barns is north of the building next to the tram lines. Parking passes are not required.
AGM
The AGM has been scheduled for Saturday, September 29th, (time, tbc.) Please watch the bulletin board and the website for more details.
Friendly reminder
As part of our program parents are welcome to observe their children's classes throughout the year, space permitting, except during final exam and performance preparation. However, we do ask the number of parents be limited to one and siblings not be allowed in the room as this has become very distracting to the students and the teachers. All outside shoes must be removed to protect the floor. We ask you treat the class as a performance and turn off all cell phones and refrain from talking. Thank you from the staff and students.
Children's Fitness Tax Credit
Starting in 2007, families will be allowed to claim a maximum of $500.00 per calendar year for eligible fees paid for each child who is under 16. (Please see the Revenue Canada website for more information.) More information is still required on this topic. To date only fees actually paid after the 1st of January may be used. Fees paid prior to this date for programs which qualify in the 2007 calendar year, may not be used for the tax credit. However, any fees throughout 2007 paid for an eligible program may be used towards your $500.00 tax credit. The website has information for all families and how this new credit will work for you. Invoices and receipts for the 2007-08 Season are in the process of being sent home. Receipts will only be issued as payments are made. These are your official copies, please do not lose them. A replacement fee will be charged. If you are in need of your invoice/receipts from January -June of 2007 (please remember the total amount claimable is $500.00 per child for the calendar year) please let the school know.
