Christmas Holidays? I can hear the eyebrows lift! We are already underway in the production of costumes; an expensive undertaking requiring imagination and a very resourceful wardrobe. The Board of Cecchetti Dance Theatre has been busy looking into fundraisers which will help raise money to purchase white tutus. We are asking parents to please consider helping in this wonderful opportunity which will benefit the students of Cecchetti Dance Theatre. A reminder the building will be closed on Saturday, October 29th for the InterFear Festival. All regular scheduled classes will be cancelled. These classes will be re-scheduled by your teacher. Royal Winnipeg Ballet Auditions for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet will be held on Tuesday, October 12th at Dance Alberta. The Faculty of RWB will also be offering Master Classes for students 10 years old and up. If you are interested in attending the classes or the auditions please call 1-877-927-2466 or www.rwbschool.com National Ballet School Auditions for the National Ballet School will be held on Sunday and Monday, October 16th & 17th at West Edmonton Ballet Academy. If you are interested in attending the classes or auditioning for this program register on-line at http://www.nbs-enb.ca/ or call 1-800-387-0785. Emergency Contact Information In the next week CDT will be sending home information sheets to update emergency contact information. Please include any health concerns the staff should be aware of including allergies. Thank you for your attention in this serious matter. Jazz Class We would like to offer a Junior Jazz Introductory program for our students 7-9. This class would run for shorter sessions and would be a great way to introduce the children to a different dance style. We would like to offer the classes either Monday evening or Saturday morning. If you are interested please let the school know at 233-2232. Information letters will be sent home. Parking passes are required; please ensure you have your parking pass displayed for the staff to see. Parking tickets will be issued to cars that do not have a parking pass. Due to the volume of traffic in the area, replacement passes are not available. Faculty We welcome our most recent addition to our faculty, Carole Makus. Carole is well known within the Edmonton Dance Community and throughout the United States for her accompanying skills. As a long time friend it is a pleasure for me to welcome Carole to CDT! Giving Tree Anyone with the following items or with any spare time please let us know. If you do have a small tree we would love to borrow it for our forest scene for the Christmas Show. You can have it back! I promise!!!! • Christmas Trees smaller than 5 feet • Volunteer sewers • Parent Volunteer for Second Hand dance wear Great news on our used dance wear board/ catalogue. Trish Lush has volunteered to work with the school and would like to spear head this great idea. All families who would like to sell or require dance wear should contact the school with a written list of items.
