Snow, snow, and more snow ...

Congratulations to all the students of CDT who showed professionalism at the auditions for the National Ballet and Royal Winnipeg Ballet last month. It takes courage and passion for dancers to enter auditions as difficult as the ones mentioned.

Only a few dancers are chosen nation wide into these programs. Congratulations to the following dancers who were accepted into the Professional Division Summer School of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet:
Monica Winstone
Meghan Rozmahel

Congratulations to Nikola Recknagle who was accepted into the Aspirant Program Summer School of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the National Ballet's Summer Program. Last month auditions were also held for Nutcracker. Congratulations to Leah Harman and Stephanie Beaver who both received parts in the upcoming performance of Alberta Ballet's Nutcracker.

We are very proud of all our dancers and the training they receive. As one of Edmonton's leading ballet schools we are fortunate to have such a talented faculty and state of the art facilities.

Thank you to all the parents for your support by making sure your children attend every class.

Cecchetti Workshop
The Cecchetti Society of Canada/Alberta Branch will be hosting a Ballet Workshop on Sunday November 26th. These classes are for students in Level 1 to Intermediate Foundation. We are recommending all students at CDT to attend this workshop. The ballet classes will be taught by Susan Brooker, F.I.S.T.D., Cecchetti Examiner and Enrico Cecchetti Diploma and is currently residing in Connecticut. What an opportunity for the dancers in Edmonton!!! Also on the schedule there will be Character Classes for each level! The students will have the opportunity to study classical ballet with strength and epaulement as seen in the Mazurka or Czardas of the ballets!

Volunteers
Help!!!

We will need a list of volunteers for the upcoming show in December.
• Two parents from each class in the Junior school (Creative Movement-Level 1) • One parent from the Level 2 class

We ask volunteers be available for both the dress rehearsal on the 9th of December as well the performance on the 16th.
• Two ushers for taking tickets at the door
• Box office if required
• Parents to help set up the Christmas Tea prior to the show on the 16th of December

The Giving Tree
Here is a list of items CDT is still in need for the production and costume departments.
• To Bed linen for 3 beds in the Nursery • Floor length curtains for the window in the Nursery • Fake foliage ( like Spider plants or house plants) • Sewers for simple patterns

Chocolate Almonds
Last year, CDT ran a successful campaign called Chocolates for Tutus. With the help of all the families we were able to purchase 4 pancake tutus each costing $250.00. Once again, we would like to run this campaign for the school in hopes of purchasing more tutus. The almonds will be available for pick up on Monday November 13th. Information on the cost of each case will be coming home as well as information on selling the almonds. Once again, thank you for your continued support.
