Chocolates for tutus

We are well underway in our first fundraising campaign, Chocolates for Tutus. This first activity goes toward our goal of raising $6000.00 in the purchase of 12 pancake tutus and 12 romantic tutus.

On behalf of the Cecchetti Dance Theatre Guild Board, thank you to all the parents and students who have sacrificed their time and diet to this worthwhile event.

The preparations for the Christmas Performance are now well underway. Ticket order forms will go home on November 26th. We ask that all forms be returned by the 10th of December. After this date, tickets will be available at the box office only on the day of the show.

Information about the dress rehearsal and dancers' times will go home in the next few weeks. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask your teacher or call the studio at 233-2232.

On behalf of the staff of CDT we thank you for your continued support of the school and its programs.

Regards,
Margaret Dalwood
Principal
Cecchetti Workshop
A Cecchetti Workshop hosted by the Alberta Branch of the Cecchetti Society of Canada, will be held on Sunday, November 20th at the Edmonton School of Ballet. This workshop is open to students in the Middle and Senior Schools. The faculty includes Christine Richardson and Joyce Shietze, examiners for the Cecchetti Society of Canada, and Sarissa Figueroa from Decidedly Jazz in Calgary. You may recognize Sarissa's last name from our dear friend Maria Figueroa, past faculty member and mother of Sarissa. It will be a pleasure to have Sarissa work with CDT students. As one of her teachers when Sarissa was a student herself, it is exciting for me to have the next generation of students to have this opportunity. For more information about this workshop please ask your ballet teacher or call the studio at 233-2232.

Royal Winnipeg Ballet
Congratulations to Tyler Henschel, a CDT student in our Middle School who was accepted into the Royal Winnipeg's Professional Division Summer School at the recent auditions. To all our students who attended the open classes, it was great to see you all there. At CDT we look forward to offering all our students more experiences in the future.

Nut cracker
Congratulations to Meghan Rozmahel, another CDT student in our Middle School who auditioned and was accepted into the cast of the upcoming Alberta Ballet's Nutcracker. Meghan will perform in all 5 performances, December 8th -11th at the Jubilee Auditorium.

Parking
I am sure everyone has noticed the parking disruptions in the vicinity of the building. The library will continue its renovations well into the next year. Please remember to place your parking pass so that it is visible to the staff of the TransAlta Arts Barns.

Dress Rehearsal
On Saturday, December 17th, there will be a full dress rehearsal from 9:00- noon in the PCL studio. We are asking students be dropped off by 8:45 and picked up at noon. This will be a closed rehearsal, no one will be allowed to stay and watch. Children are asked to bring a light snack no peanuts, nuts or grape juice. This rehearsal will give the staff the opportunity to work with the children in larger groups therefore making the tech rehearsal on Monday the 19th shorter before the performance begins. If you have any questions or concerns please let your teacher know or call the studio at 233-2232.
