June Performance

With the completion of the Cecchetti exams, preparations are heavily underway for the June 9th performance.
Dress rehearsal for the School will take place on Saturday, June 2nd. This rehearsal is extremely important. All dancers are involved in the performance. If any family knows they will be away the weekend of the performance, please notify your teacher right away.
It is important attendance in class time remain consistent. Regular classes will not be affected on the Saturday of the Victoria long weekend. If you are away for the first camping weekend of the season please let your teacher know.
Tickets for the performance go on sale May 14th. CDT will use the same guidelines as Christmas for families requiring more that 4 tickets. Each family will be guaranteed a purchase of 4 tickets up to the early bird deadline of May 26th. After this date all remaining unsold tickets will be available for purchase. Please note the school will not be responsible for any refunds or exchange of unused tickets.

Backstage Volunteers
'Tis the season for parents to volunteer backstage!! We will need parents who are willing to volunteer for the dress rehearsal and performance.
A friendly reminder, if you not volunteering for the performance we ask that you please not stay for the dress rehearsal. This does cause us more confusion!
Our wonderful new parent committee will be contacting you. Please consider taking the moment to assist backstage. We require 2 parents from each class. If you have not taken a turn yet maybe this would performance can be your chance?
We also need a few volunteers to help with the setting up of the Tea and parents willing to work the box office if required and to take tickets at the door. Please, if you can help, call the studio at 233-2232.

Mister Sun ...
April was a very busy month for the students of CDT. After many weeks of preparation the examinations are now complete. On behalf of the staff I would like to congratulate all the dancers on their hard work.
Marks will be arriving shortly, with the reports and certificates to follow. Each dancer will receive their own report sheet with personal comments.
Next to come home will be the fall registration packages! CDT will be in residence at The TransAlta Arts Barns for the 2007-08 Season. Each student will receive a schedule and registration forms. If you have any questions about the classes for next year please see your ballet teacher or call the studio at 233-2232.
Tickets for the June performance will go on sale Monday, May 14th. Please see the rest of the newsletter for more information for the June performance.
We are still accepting summer registrations. The early bird date is fast approaching. Classes are starting to fill and we hope to see more students from CDT attending the programs. The summer programs give the children an opportunity to meet new friends as well as see old ones. Skills from the year are more intensely studied and new skills are learned in a creative, safe and fun environment. We hope to see you there!

We are in a need of just a couple of items...
- Weaved baskets for the children to carry on stage for props
- Plastic fruit or vegetables for the baskets
- Any Fake Green Christmas trees without decorations and lights...

Dates for CDT's summer program are as follows.
Junior Summer School-Dance Intensive
July 16th-20th
Age 3 to Grade 3
(Cecchetti or equivalent)
Stagecraft 2007
July 29th- August 4th
Pre-Intermediate to Advanced
(Cecchetti or equivalent)
on-line registration
The Junior Summer School will offer a week to refresh skills, try new dance moves and meet other children. This fun filled week includes daily ballet class; mime; arts and crafts; study of the ballets, jazz and of course lots of creative dancing. Check out the full day program and see what everyone is talking about! (Remember these receipts may be used on your 2007 tax return!)
